Feature: Flying to Japan from the US.

Fuji Yes, it is a long flight. But if you fly on one of the asian carriers such as ANA and JAL, I believe you will be pleasantly surprised by the experience. Their service is typically much better than US domestic carriers. If you are departing from the US west coast, I recommend flying out of San Francisco (SFO), as opposed to Los Angeles (LAX). A common saying is that friends don't let friends fly through LAX. Assuming your going to Tokyo / Narita airport, the flight will be about 11.5 hours going over, and only 9 hours back home (the jetstream acts as a stong tailwind on the return).
